Class of 2012. Graduated Valedictorian. Senior project included selling original paintings to benefit my school's art department. I also participated in multiple art shows, and displayed my paintings created for the US Fish and Wildlife Service's duck stamp contest. I also participated in city works projects and painted a utility box with local bird species. Other highlights include working with the school's garden club and urban ecology class. University of Oregon Class of 2017. My major is environmental science with a focus on life sciences. I've participated in a broad range of classes, like Environmental Management, The Natural Environment, Watershed Science and Policy, Trees across Oregon, Urban Farm, Environmental Literature, Biological Diversity, Environmental Philosophy, Animal Behavior, Conservation Biology, the Environmental Leadership Program, and more. I have also taken outdoor-oriented courses like Wilderness Survival and Backpacking and Rock Climbing. Other Education I have completed research that is relevant to the study of environmental science. I collected and analyzed data on trout populations in certain river sections in Big Sur, CA, for a Wildlands Studies program. We also did otter counts and studied local flora. My focal study was on stomatal density in plants in different elevations of Big Sur. I also helped with a research project for the Bureau of Land Management. I assisted in checking traps and taking data on fishers in the Ashland Creek watershed habitat. I have done a lot of volunteer work as well. This includes the Willamette and Rogue River clean ups, work in student and food for lane county gardens, and Lomakatsi watershed restoration projects. |
