I worked with the Restoring Connections 2016 team at the University of Oregon in developing and implementing Environmental Education curriculum for kindergarten and first grade students. Courses and responsibilities My team learned about the importance of creating an inclusive, adaptable, holistic curriculum that upheld the values and techniques we learned about. My roles included writing original curriculum activities for first graders, creating activity sheets with original artwork, and working with my team to effectively edit and implement this document in the field. We wrote the curriculum with knowledge of state and national environmental education standards, as well as a broad understanding of what makes a lesson successful. Some examples include:

*Coyote Mentoring techniques include the Art of Questioning, or guiding a student to the answer using questions versus simply stating the answer. We also used the core routine of Sit Spotting, which allows students to sit alone in nature and awaken the senses and discover new things they never would have noticed before.
